Guide For Authors

Journal of the Bangladesh Chemical Society (JBCS) is a peer reviewed Journal that provides rapid publication of articles in all areas of chemistry and its applications and publishes biannually. The journal welcomes publications of high quality papers on theoretical developments and practical applications in chemical science and its related field. Original research papers and high quality communications are invited for publications. Journal of Bangladesh Chemical Society (JBCS) is published in English twice a year (June and December). Original research work of any branch of chemistry directly related to chemical sciences will be considered for publication in the Journal. JBCS is regularly abstracted by the Chemical Abstracts.

Papers considered for publication are full definitive articles and short notes. Full articles should not normally exceed 10 printed pages and the short communications 4 printed pages. The short notes should contain some experimental details.

All papers should be submitted by using double column as shown in the template (http://www.chemicalsocietybd.org/jbcs). Tables and Figures should be numbered consecutively (Times New Roman, 9 points bold) using Arabic numerals and should have brief informative and concise captions (plain text) and inserted preferably in a single column. The same results should not be duplicated in both tables and figures.

While submitting a manuscript, the authors must declare that it has not been sent to another journal for publication. Authors are responsible for the factual truth of the results described in the paper. Once printed, the Publisher will reserve the rights to the paper. However, for academic purposes only, reference to the work published in the journal could be made without prior permission of the Publisher. Manuscript submitted to JBCS for publication become the property of JBCS and will not be returned whether the paper is published or not.

The paper should have an informative title (Times New Roman 14.5 points, bold, small letters) to be followed by the names of the author(s) (Times New Roman 12 points). The affiliation of the authors should be given in the designated space according to template.

All full papers should have Abstracts not exceeding 100–150 words ((Times New Roman 9 points). Short notes should have shorter abstracts (not exceeding 50 words). The Abstracts should be followed by Introduction (Times New Roman 10 points, bold) and this by Experimental, and then Results and discussion, Acknowledgements if any and References. The sub-section heading should be written in Times New Roman, 9 points, bold. The body text should be written in Times New Roman, 10 points.

Authors are requested to provide a graphical abstract content in a single column. For more clarification, please see the template of the graphical abstract in the website (http://www.chemicalsocietybd.org/jbcs).

The references should be given according to notes and references section (Times New Roman 9 points with numerical number).

The units and nomenclature to be used in the papers should conform to those approved by the IUPAC and Chemical Abstracts.

Manuscripts not conforming to the recommended style and those with incomplete references and poor quality figures would not be considered for publication in the JBCS.

Authors while submitting the papers should indicate clearly the name and mailing address of the person to whom correspondence should be made in designated space.

The authors of the most attractive paper will be requested to provide a high resolution color graphical content (PNG format) which will be inserted in the cover page. A nominal fee may be charged for such kind of insertion.

Corresponding author will be provided with a copy of the issue of the Journal and a soft copy will be provided to the authors.

A galley proof will be provided for accepted paper prior to final publication.
